As our operations continue to grow, we are seeking a detail-oriented and highly
competent Accountant to support our finance function in Nigeria and ensure strong
financial management, reporting discipline, and regulatory compliance.
THE ROLE
The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing
financial reports, ensuring compliance with Nigerian regulatory requirements, and
supporting the company’s financial operations. The role will work closely with internal
teams and external advisors to ensure efficient financial management and timely
reporting. Candidates must hold a professional ICAN or ACCA qualification and have
hands-on experience using QuickBooks.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
. Maintain, reconcile, and update company financial records and ledgers.
. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management
reports.
. Manage and process monthly payroll for local staff in compliance with Nigerian
labour and tax regulations.
. Monitor cash flow and support budgeting and financial forecasting processes.
. Ensure compliance with Nigerian accounting standards, statutory requirements, and
internal financial controls.
. Prepare and file statutory tax returns including VAT, PAYE, WHT, and CIT in
accordance with FIRS regulations.
. Support financial analysis and reporting to assist management decision-making.
. Liaise with external auditors and support annual audit processes.
. Assist with the implementation and onboarding of an ERP system.
. Support supply chain and procurement processes by tracking equipment and
material purchases, verifying vendor invoices, and ensuring accurate financial
recording of project-related expenditures.
. Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and support special finance projects as required.
QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS
. ICAN or ACCA professional certification (required).
. Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting or finance experience.
. Hands-on experience using QuickBooks accounting software.
. Strong understanding of Nigerian tax regulations, accounting standards, and
statutory compliance requirements.
. Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.
. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams.
. Experience working with donor-funded projects or international organizations is an
advantage.
