Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) is comprised of Botswana, Swaziland, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Lesotho, Malawi, Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Madagascar, Seychelles, and Mauritius. Boasting some of the best solar resources in the World, the Southern African region has immense opportunity for solar development growth since there is local know-how in the technical, legal and financial side of the project. This webinar looks into the opportunities going forward for this region with plentiful solar resources.

  • Hear an update on the status in solar projects across the region and future procurement of projects to come
  • Understand the opportunities for solar energy away from public tenders, such as private PPAs and mini and micro grids
  • Learn about the efforts by governments across SADC as well as efforts by International Finance Institutions (IFIs) like Scaling Solar that are helping facilitate and de-risk solar energy projects
