West African Energy Cooperation Summit (WA-ECS)

EnergyNet is delighted to announce the inaugural West African Energy Cooperation Summit (WA-ECS), which will take place from 3 – 5 December in Lomé, Togo, in partnership with the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Togolese Republic.

West Africa is poised at a critical junction in its energy development. The region is endowed with abundant natural resources, including significant solar, hydro and gas reserves, presenting unparalleled opportunities for sustainable energy development.

Key projects, such as the ongoing expansion of the West African Power Pool, the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline, solar farm projects in Mauritania, Togo, and Mali, and BESS development across the region are setting the stage for an exciting shift in the energy landscape.

WA-ECS 24 continues the crucial discussions from the Africa Energy Forum with a focus on the regional level, directly engaging stakeholders. This ensures that solutions and collaborations are relevant and actionable for West Africa’s unique context.

Topics to be discussed will include:

Opportunities in the region’s latest projects across solar, gas, and hydro
Practical plans for reaching 2030 renewable energy goals
Developing the energy markets and enhancing trading through WAPP
Strategic discussions on increasing private sector participation
Increasing collaboration with West Africa’s mining sector

Under the Patronage of the Ministry of Mines and Energy, Togolese Republic, Presidents and Ministers will greenlight and secure the delivery of key projects to ignite an investment surge across the region.
