On November 2022 at Sharm El-Sheikh, President Akufo-Addo noted “We will continue to increase the share of renewable energy in our electricity generation mix, as well as explore the options of hydrogen, gas and other clean energy sources to meet our energy needs. The Energy Transition Framework will meet future electricity demand of 380 TWh hour with a corresponding installed capacity of 83 GW. Ghana’s diversified energy mix will include 21 GW of renewable energy installed capacity, which will provide the opportunity to enjoy a greater share in the renewable energy carbon credit market.”
Under the Ghana’s Integrated Power Sector Master Plan 2019, major sources of renewables, such as solar PV and onshore wind, are aimed to be installed between 2022 and 2030.
Renewable energy will remain a major area of investment in the country which still requires huge investment to operate the power industry’s transformation.
The 2nd RENPOWER GHANA will gather industry leaders and technology providers who will show you around into the current developments and prospects of all relevant areas of clean energy transition in the country.
