MYSOL Tanzania (Engie Energy Access Tanzania), a Solar energy company, has launched its operations in Zanzibar, pledging to bridge the gap in access to electricity and actively contribute to expansion of the off-grid electrification.

The Company’s Managing Director, Godfrey Mugambi said the launching of the solar firm’s operations in Zanzibar is in line with its ambition to impact 20 million lives by 2025 in both mainland and the Isles.

“Our expansion to Zanzibar is part of an ambitious growth plan to scale even faster and wider across the country, allowing us to bring our clean, reliable and affordable energy to millions of Tanzanians over the next five years,” Mr Mugambi said.

MySol is determined to make an impactful contribution to the economy by providing solutions that contribute to development in key sectors of the economy, including agriculture through affordable solar water pumps for irrigation as well as solar for industrial use.

Zanzibar operations were officially launched by the Minister for Water, Energy and Minerals, Shahibu Hassan Kaduwara who commended the milestone and affirmed that the launch of the MySol should complement the government efforts in increasing energy access.
