Heartfelt thanks to the ENGIE Energy Access team for selecting SustainSolar’s turnkey power system to help electrify Dohoue community in the Zogbodomey (Benin). SustainSolar supplied a 90 kW/130 kWh SUSTAIN COMPACT™ containerised power system with Victron, BYD and SUNGROW equipment sized to power 250 household and business connections. Dohoue is ENGIE’s first mini-grid in Benin, and 20+ further are in development to expand access to additional rural communities.

SustainSolar had the chance to visit Dohoue last year. It is a vibrant rural community with over 1,500 residents; and access to power will boost to economic development opportunities for the local population. Specifically for women who will now have access to effective income-generating opportunities.

To ensure all ran smoothly, our Senior Project Engineer Björn Kahle himself travelled to site with the ENGIE team for a successful site commissioning last month (January 2024).
