French renewable power producer and developer Akuo increased its energy sales by 12% year-over-year in 2020 on the back of new plant commissioning in 2019 and 2020.

Energy sales rose to EUR 288 million (USD 344.6m) after growing 22% in 2019.

The company said on Wednesday that 2020 pro-forma revenues, restated for the biomass business which is now accounted for in assets held for sale, expended 9% to EUR 285 million.

Akuo expects pro-forma energy sales to grow further in 2021, though specific numbers were not provided.

The company is refocusing on solar and wind power, which last year accounted for 30% and 44% of energy sales, respectively.

It said that in spite of the pandemic, it commissioned eight projects with a combined capacity of over 100 MW last year. These include three solar farms in mainland France and the 50-MW Kita solar project in Mali. In 2021, the company is preparing to commission several projects in mainland and overseas France, Poland and the US.

At the end of 2020, Akuo had 1,029 MW of installed power capacity and 29 MWh of storage, as well as 252 MW of power and 22 MWh of storage projects under construction.
