Job Purpose
The accountant is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, managing reconciliations, ensuring statutory compliance, and supporting effective financial management and decision-making within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities
• Process day-to-day financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and journal entries.
• Assist with the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax legislation, and company policies.
• Prepare monthly accounts payable reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly accounts receivable reconciliations and customer statements.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations by the 12th of each subsequent month.
• Maintain accurate and complete financial records and supporting documentation.
• Conduct periodic physical verification of company assets and inventory.
• Ensure all asset acquisitions, disposals, and transfers are properly documented, motivated, and approved in accordance with company policy.
• Initiate, coordinate, and manage insurance claims.
• Support month-end and year-end financial reporting processes.
• Adhere to internal controls, governance frameworks, and financial procedures.
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation as required.
• Perform any other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience
• Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5–8 years’ relevant accounting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, or similar systems.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, VAT, and general tax compliance requirements.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experience in a project-based, construction, engineering, or multi-entity environment will be an added advantage.
• Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
