Solis Dominates Solar Power Africa with Groundbreaking Innovations
21 Feb 2024

Ginlong (Solis) (Stock code: 300763. S.Z), the 3rd largest PV inverter manufacturer, continues to make significant strides in aiding African countries’ transition to clean energy. At the recent Solar Power Africa event, held in Cape Town, Solis seized the opportunity to unveil the Solis S6 product expansion, specially crafted for the dynamic African market.

Following the remarkable reception of the Solis S6 Advanced Hybrid Inverter, which debuted on the market in 2023, this year’s Solar Power Africa served as an opportune platform for the company to introduce its latest additions to the product line. These additions include the Solis Three Phase Grid-Tied Inverters, Solis Single Phase Low Voltage Energy Storage Inverter, and the Solis Single Phase Low Voltage Off-Grid Inverters.

South Africa, heavily reliant on coal for electricity production, faces significant challenges, particularly during the rainy season when energy resources are affected by adverse weather conditions. This exacerbates the power crisis, leading to severe load shedding, with South Africans enduring up to 10 hours without power during peak times. The latest Solis products offer an ideal solution as South Africa aims to transition to renewable energy, with 2030 set as a target to increase renewable energy contributions to the grid.

James Frank, Solis’s South Africa Country Manager, emphasized, “As the world’s third-largest PV inverter manufacturer, Solis is well-positioned to support South Africa’s ambition to adopt energy transition pathways. Firmly committed to its mission of ‘Developing technology to power the world with clean energy,’ the Solis team at the expo seized every opportunity to connect with customers.”

Tony Botha, Regional Sales Manager, added, “the Solar Power Africa Expo left visitors electrified with the long-anticipated release of our new product range. The spotlight was on the highly anticipated Solis S6 50kW hybrid and the game-changing 355kW AC string inverter, both of which promise to redefine the solar energy landscape.

As the world seeks sustainable and efficient energy solutions, Solis’s presentation of these groundbreaking products exemplified a commitment to driving progress and shaping the future of renewable energy with in and throughout Africa.”
