John has extensive solar experience which includes utility-scale, commercial and residential projects, grid-tied ,hybrid systems and Solar Home System.
Prior to leading AFSIA he was advising a leading venture backed company developing solutions to provide affordable, clean energy to off-grid communities in Africa. The company designs, manufactures, distributes and finances innovative plug & play solar systems to improve access to energy across Africa and the developing world. Previously John was driving development of FRV Fotowatio Renewable Ventures utility-scale PV and wind projects in Africa.
John has working experience in Europe, the US, the Middle East and the following African countries: Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, Kenya, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Mali, Senegal, Zambia, Malawi, Swaziland, South Africa, Tunisia, Morocco
John holds a MBA in Strategy, Managerial and Organizational Behaviour, Entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago Booth.

Kevin Robinson is an electrical engineer with vast experience in manufacturing, project development and implementation of solar systems for rural electrification, pumping, telecommunications, commercial and industrial as well as utility scale power plants.
Kevin was a founding member of the South African Photovoltaic Industry Association (SAPVIA) where he has served on the board as well as a steering committees for local manufacturing. He is currently working as the Sales Manager for SolarEdge Technologies and previously was the Technical Services Manager for Jinko Solar covering the Middle East and Africa Markets.
