To help us achieve this, we are seeking a highly motivated Technical Strategy Associate to join our Strategy and Emerging Business department.

As the Technical Strategy Associate at Wetility, you will play a critical role in driving Wetility’s success by assisting with, planning and managing the technical aspects of our strategic initiatives. You will actively participate in assessing the technical feasibility and overseeing the planning and implementation of our emerging business opportunities. You will also be the first point of contact for all technical aspects of our changing strategic initiatives, which include but are not limited to customer experience redesign and installer quality assurance.

This position requires exceptional technical and engineering skills, project management expertise, and outstanding interpersonal skills. The Technical Strategy Associate will work across all areas of the business and report to Wetility’s Chief of Staff & Director of Strategy and Emerging Business.

Responsibilities

Technical Project Planning and Implementation

  • Conduct engineering analysis and technical specifications for emerging business, B2B and special project solar and backup installations.
  • Develop comprehensive end-to-end installation roadmaps and strategic plans for complex projects, including scheduling and resource allocation records, demonstrating effective project planning and execution.
  • Manage the full project installation cycle to a high quality and customer experience, including the management of electrician and installer teams, tracking of project SLA and KPIs, and adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with Wetility’s product, operations, aftermarket supply chain and finance teams to develop optimised system designs, proposals and solutions for non-D2C customer requirements.
  • At times, provide technical expertise during the sales process, including during site assessments and technical consultations.

Technical Strategic Insight

  • Provide guidance on new growth, business, and investment opportunities across a diverse range of sectors, leveraging technical analysis and knowledge to inform decision-making.
  • Assist with the technical analysis and due diligence for strategic initiatives, proposed investments and strategic partnerships.
  • Contribute to crafting corporate and departmental strategies that accelerate growth, disrupt the solar energy market, and deliver long-term value.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports and presentations to communicate progress, results, and recommendations to stakeholders, including senior management and external partners.
  • Assist with establishing and implementing technically robust end-to-end business processes, criteria and KPIs to drive innovative and agile operating models.

Project Management and Communication

  • Lead and manage multiple cross-functional projects and strategic transformations concurrently, adeptly managing competing deadlines, evolving priorities, and resource availability.
  • Exceptionally manage cross-functional project team members and stakeholders, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance across all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline. Postgraduate degree in engineering or management, and experience in renewable energy / solar preferred.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in project management either in strategy or engineering consulting or in the renewable energy sector, with a track record of successfully overseeing complex projects from conception to completion.
  • Strong understanding of solar energy systems, backup installations, and related technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in conducting engineering analysis and developing technical specifications for diverse projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating comprehensive end-to-end installation roadmaps and strategic plans, including scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Proven ability to cultivate strong client relationships, effectively managing key client and partner interactions to ensure the delivery of quality and value.
  • Exceptional critical thinking abilities focused on solution development, constructing logical arguments or analyses, synthesizing complex information, and proactively identifying or anticipating risks and challenges.
  • A relentless drive for results, coupled with the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with numerous competing deadlines.
  • Strong organizational prowess, including the capability to devise, implement, and monitor comprehensive project management plans with clear action plans to achieve objectives, optimize resource utilization, measure performance, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Outstanding communication skills, enabling effective engagement with internal and external stakeholders across all levels. This includes the ability to delegate tasks, motivate and inspire team members, instill accountability, provide clear direction, and secure support and buy-in.
