Role Brief:

We are looking for a results-oriented Head of Marketing and Communications with minimum 10 years’ experience to lead our marketing operations across 10 African countries. You’ll oversee all aspects, from developing data-driven marketing strategies to optimizing workflows that fuel sales and ensure high collection rates on online and offline channels. You will work under the supervision of the Chief Commercial Officer to produce high-quality, profile raising and sales-oriented work.

At our Group level, this role develops and implements the external communications strategy, and coordinates corporate marketing campaigns, targeting external stakeholders of the business, to enhance Bboxx’s visibility and awareness.

At our operating Countries level, this role will be responsible of managing the local marketing teams to maintain high levels of marketing materials and campaigns to drive sales (physical and digital touch points). For this role, you should be very organized and able to manage several projects and teams at the same time. You need to ensure a global brand integrity and coherent identity.

What you can expect to be doing:

•Drive forward Bboxx’s brand reputation at corporate level, and in its operating markets.

•Drive marketing and communication plans and execution across business activity, including corporate events management, content development, public relations, digital marketing, social media, company’s website, campaigns, and advertising.

•Ensure audience and stakeholder engagement throughout all group channels, thanks to data-driven decisions.

•Coordinate with the design, digital and social media teams to ensure campaigns are leveraged effectively; and all created collaterals & assets are on-brand.

•Manage external agencies and contractors’ priorities to deliver the plan on agreed timeline.

•Crisis management; and company protection in external communications.

•Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive marketing operations strategy focused on increasing sales of our products in rural, peri-urban, and urban African markets.

•Work closely with the Head of Retail and local Marketing Managers to ensure alignment and effectiveness of marketing campaigns across Bboxx’s footprint.

•Identify, select, and implement marketing strategies to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and maximize sales and collection efforts.

•Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) on all channels (cost of acquisition, conversation rate, …), analyzing data to identify trends, generate insights, and inform strategic decision-making.

•Manage and analyze marketing data to optimize campaign performance, improve customer acquisition, and ensure high collection rates.

•Oversee the marketing budget for efficient allocation of resources across Bboxx’s 10 African markets.

•Lead and manage a team of local marketing managers.

•Foster strong collaboration between marketing operations and other departments, including Business Line, Supply Chain, Finance, and Portfolio Managers.

•Stay up to date on the latest marketing operations trends and technologies specific to Africa.

What we are looking for:

•10+ years of experience in marketing operations or a related field, with experience in the off-grid solar sector a strong plus.

•Proven track record of developing and implementing successful marketing operations strategies that drive sales and improve collections.

•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.

•Experience with data analysis and reporting tools for marketing.

•Strong project management and organizational skills.

•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on cross-functional collaboration.

•Ability to lead and motivate a team.

•Ability to meet deadlines.

•Passion for renewable energy, social impact, and bringing clean energy solutions to rural communities.

•Experience working in Africa or a developing market is highly desirable.

•Fluent in French and English

•Very strong written & verbal communication skills to convince internally and externally.
