We are excited to announce that we are seeking a Managing Director to join Inspired Evolution as part of a new initiative focused on investments in decentralised renewable energy (DRE) sub-sectors across sub-Saharan Africa, called Zafiri. The DRE sub-sectors include: renewable mini- and metro-grids; solar home systems; impact-driven generation for commercial and industrial (C&I) offtakers; clean cooking stoves and products; small-scale independent power producers (IPPs), battery energy storage systems, and innovative solutions to sustain on-grid distribution utilities (including grid-edge innovations) to facilitate access and productive uses of energy for predominantly underserved residential communities.
Skills and Experience
- 15+ in private equity, infrastructure investing, or blended finance including leading investment teams
- Strong decentralised renewable energy (DRE) track record in equity investing and energy access, particularly in Africa
- Significant experience deploying and managing capital in Sub-Saharan Africa
- Proven success managing Investor Relations with DFIs, foundations or institutional investors
- Deep understanding of climate and energy sectors
- Suitable academic qualifications: eg MBA, MSc Finance/Engineering or related fields
