More than 250 families in the city of Walikale (North Kivu) will be supplied with electricity by the end of November 2022, thanks to the electrification project of a solar power plant by the company Nduma Kasha, a private company under Congolese law.
About 45 KW will be produced to supply more than 250 families in the city of Walikale. This is a great first for this territory which remains the largest in the province of North Kivu and which has never been electrified since its existence.
The GoShop company is carrying out the construction works of this solar power plant which will end in November of the current year.
Although private, this project is a response to the Head of State’s call for the development of 145 territories, says Rubens Mikindo, one of the owners of the Nduma Kasha company.
The final objective of this project, he indicated, is to build in addition to the solar power plant, a hydroelectric power plant in order to produce more or less 1 megawatt.
