POSITION: Solar Design Engineer (Commercial & Industrial Sites)

Position based at: Cairo – Egypt (Hybrid)

Experience : 5+ years in Solar Deigning

Travel: Middle East & Africa

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solar Design Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the solar field, specifically in designing and engineering solar PV systems for commercial and industrial sites. The role involves ensuring the systems meet performance, cost, and safety criteria.

Key Responsibilities

• Requirement of Design engineer for projects – commercial & Industrial, and utility scale solar Projects who can Design and develop photovoltaic (PV) systems, including load analysis, equipment specifications, and electrical schematics
• Complete system designs for PV projects including site plans, mechanical racking and attachment plans, single-line electrical drawings, specification of BOS location and interconnection details, and labelling.
• Understand the optimal design applications and design limitations of solar standard products, and Conduct site assessments and evaluate shading analysis, temperature, and weather conditions to optimize system performance.
• Create detailed technical drawings and specifications for solar PV systems using

softwares such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, and Helioscope.

• Interface and provide streamlined project information and detailed bill of materials
• Develop project proposals and cost control measures.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks and develop competitive specifications for any purchased components working as per market standards.
• Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously Well versed in Microsoft Office, MS Projects, and Excel.
• Design and develop photovoltaic (PV) systems, including load analysis, equipment specifications, and electrical schematics
• Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of project proposals, cost estimates, and feasibility studies.
• Provide technical support during the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of solar PV systems.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements in solar technology and industry best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and engineering of solar PV systems,

particularly for commercial and industrial sites.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, and other relevant design software.
• Strong understanding of solar PV system components, installation methods, and

performance analysis.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Experience with energy storage systems and hybrid solar installations.
• Familiarity with project management software and tools.
