Release who is developing and deploying a unique, flexible leasing solution of movable and modular solar and battery equipment for the mining and utilities market. We have recently secured additional financing from our minority shareholder Climate Fund Managers and our partnership with IFC and the World Bank which gives our dynamic, young team the resources they need to meet our significant growth ambitions. We are present in several countries in Africa and in the Americas, and are headquartered in Oslo, Norway.

Main purpose of position

We are looking for a Project Director to be based in Oslo, Norway or Cape Town, South Africa and be part of our global team. The Project Director has the overall responsibility for execution of projects and operations in the company. The Project Director’s main responsibility is to ensure that we have the required procedures and organization in place for implementing and commissioning projects with the right quality, within the agreed time and budget while observing our high standards of HSSE and stakeholder engagement. The Project Director is reporting to the CEO and is a key member of the management team driving the Release business forward.

Main Responsibilities

• Overall responsible for a broad project portfolio across: Project Execution -Supply Chain – Procurement – Logistics; Project Operating System; HSSE
• Establish organisation, schedules and budgets
• Continuous improvement of Release standard delivery programme and technical solutions
• Manage suppliers and contractors
• Communicate effectively company values and objectives

Qualification

• Master Engineering Degree
• 15+ years EPC/construction experience
• 5+ years Africa experience
• 5+ years renewable energy sector experience (mainly solar PV, BESS experience is an advantage)
• Proven track record of management a portfolio of projects
• Language: Fluent both written and spoken in English and French
