We are looking for a motivated Business Development Manager to join our team. This role is key to identifying and developing new business opportunities while building strong relationships within the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop and pursue new business opportunities to their maximum potential.
– Create a viable solar offering tailored to market needs.
– Foster strong relationships with project funders and Investment Managers.
– Build connections with local governments and industry stakeholders, including utilities and industry associations.
– Collaborate with the Sales team to convert prospective leads into long-term clients.
– Oversee public relations and marketing activities to enhance brand visibility.
– Identify and respond to tenders and RFQs, securing the right partners for submissions.
– Scout new markets and propose effective market entry strategies.
– Attend industry events to engage with market participants and generate new business leads.
– Provide timely market intelligence on projects, trends, and competitor activities to support the Sales team.
– Manage the Legal and Technical Due Diligence process with the legal and technical teams.
– Negotiate project contracts such as NDA, Exclusivity, Lease, PPA, SPA, and EPC.
– Develop financial models to assess project returns and report to Senior Management.
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, or Finance; MBA preferred.
– At least 8 years of experience in B2B business development or a related commercial function, with a minimum of 2 years in the energy sector.
– Technical understanding of solar and energy markets.
– Knowledge of related business processes, including permits, project development, and procurement.
– Proficiency in financial modeling and proposal creation.
– Experience with PR and marketing strategies.
– Ability to manage the entire project development process, coordinating with various stakeholders.
– Strong understanding of commercial activities, funding arrangements, and legal requirements.
– Experience working in both private and public sectors, demonstrating adaptability.
– Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
– Collaborative working style with strong problem-solving abilities.
– Excellent time management, multitasking, and communication skills.
– Fluency in English, French, and Arabic, both written and spoken.
