Position: Business Development Manager – Afrique-Occidentale Française (AOF)
Location: Cote D’Ivoire, West Africa

We specialize in the development, design, implementation, and operations of solar photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects to commercial and industrial clients in sub-Sahara Africa.
Role Overview:
As the Business Development Manager for Renewable Energy, you will play a critical role in driving the growth and expansion of our renewable energy initiatives. You will lead the development and execution of strategic plans to identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities within the renewable energy sector. Your primary focus will be cultivating partnerships, negotiating deals, and positioning the company as a critical player in the renewable energy market.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive business development strategies and long-term plans to capitalize on opportunities in the renewable energy industry.
- Identify key markets, potential customers, and emerging trends to position the company for sustained growth and competitive advantage.
Business Identification and Development:
- Identify and evaluate potential business opportunities, projects, and ventures within the renewable energy space.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to assess the viability of different projects and partnerships.
Partnerships and Alliances:
- Establish and maintain relationships with potential partners, including renewable energy project developers, investors, government agencies, and industry stakeholders.
Project Pursuit and Deal Making:
- Oversee the preparation and submission of proposals, bids, and tenders for renewable energy projects.
- Lead negotiations with clients, investors, and other stakeholders to secure profitable contracts and deals.
Financial Analysis and Risk Assessment:
- Conduct financial evaluations and risk assessments for potential projects and investments to ensure sound decision-making.
- Work with financial teams to structure deals and optimize Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date with the regulatory landscape related to renewable energy projects and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Reporting and Communication:
- Provide regular updates to the executive leadership team on business development progress, opportunities, and challenges.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to build strong relationships and convey the company’s vision.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Finance, Renewable Energy, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Proven track record of successful business development and project execution in the renewable energy sector. Experience in solar energy engineering preferred.
- A strong network of contacts within the renewable energy industry, including developers, investors, and government agencies.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess the financial and technical feasibility of
- Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing and motivating
- In-depth knowledge of renewable energy technologies, markets, and
- Understanding of regulatory frameworks and policies related to renewable energy projects
- Fluent in Ability to communicate in English.
Reporting Line Manager:
The Business Development Manager will report directly to the CEO.
