The Universal Green Energy Access Programme (UGEAP) is an investment fund
providing long term debt capital to projects and companies that produce and/or
deliver clean energy for households and businesses in Sub-Saharan Africa. The
fund provides capital to corporates and banks alike, with the latter being sought
for as co-financing and strategic collaboration partners in the support of the
development of the renewable energy markets. The fund can invest in the
following countries: Benin, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and
Namibia. Investments are possible into proven technology only. Eligible
borrowers are medium sized companies and corporates as well as financial
institutions with a strategic target to serve these clients.
