SUMMARY:Workshop Southern Africa: The Land of Renewables & Storage Opportunities
DESCRIPTION:The Southern Africa region faces huge challenges and immense opportunities as it deploys gigawatts of new power plants to power economic prosperity whilst partially weaning itself off coal. Given the bountiful levels of solar irradiation and the many hours of sunshine enjoyed in the region\, solar energy is well placed to capture the lion’s share of new power plant deployments. And as the gigawatts of variable renewables mount\, so does the need for storage technologies to manage the peaks and troughs of PV and Wind.\n\n\n\n\n\nSouth Africa\, the biggest country in the region\, in many ways exemplifies the situation across Africa. The country is already suffering from power shortages which\, if nothing changes\, will become more acute as ageing power plants are decommissioned. In the next 10 years\, as many as 24 GW of coal plants will be forcibly retired as they reach end of life. Namibia and Botswana face a similar predicament\, not least because they have traditionally relied on electricity exports from South Africa.\nBut these countries are not sitting still and waiting for the energy conundrum to solve itself. South Africa has already procured 18 GW of renewable energy and is set to procure an additional 21 GW through its competitive procurement programme. Namibia and Botswana also have ambitious plans to deploy 5 GW of solar power to become self-sufficient and\, in time\, export power through the Southern African Power Pool\, which interconnects 17 countries. These initiatives\, often have the support in international development banks\, that are ramping up their efforts to enable Africa to expand its energy generation capabilities and transition away from coal.\nJoin this workshop to gain an insider’s look into the opportunities and challenges that Southern Africa offers for renewables and energy storage.\n\nJoin the online workshop to: \n\nFind out more about the renewable energy expansion plans in the Southern Africa region\, and assess whether your company could play a role in these markets\nUnderstand how energy storage technologies can help achieve the least cost energy mix at a system level in African countries\nGet an insight into on-grid and off-grid renewables and storage in Southern Africa\, so you can build your business plans on solid information\n\n\n\nRegister here

SUMMARY:Kenya Solar Week 2022 Conference & Awards
DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE EVENT \n\n\n\nKenya has made significant progress in advancing access to affordable\, and clean energy for all and has increased access to electricity from 30% in 2013 to over 75% in 2020\, but still about 18 million people in the country still have no access to electricity. Renewable energy in Kenya currently accounts for 73% of the installed power generation capacity\, and it has set an ambitious goal to achieve a target of 100% use of clean energy by 2030. So far\, Kenya has 102 MW of Utility Solar installed. \nAccording to a recent report\, The East African nation will hit 100MW of rooftop commercial and industrial (C&I) solar generation capacity by the end of 2022. The government is currently working to achieve this by making public schools\, hospitals and prisons\, the biggest consumers of firewood in Kenya\, transition to renewable energy. With a recent major government decision to reinstate the VAT exemptions will support the increased uptake of the solar products and significantly contribute towards the achievement of universal access to electricity in the country. \nThe event is driven by its focussed agenda curated for Utility Solar and Grid Connected Rooftop Solar and Off Grid Solutions. The sessions will witness exciting discussion and debate on the latest regulatory frameworks\, Current and future technology and business trends and market forecasts. The sessions will highlight the business opportunities present in the country. Event will see a gathering of 100+ decision makers from project developers\, solar EPC companies\, equipment manufacturers\, service/technology providers & consulting firms. The physical event format will allow a one-to-one networking alongside enabling business to be won. \n\nKey Highlights \n\n\n\nThe Kenya Solar Week is the only solar focussed conference of the country which will deliver leading market intelligence and will act as an excellent business matchmaking platform. \n\nThe Physical Conference: This event will provide a 360 Degree outlook of Kenya’s Solar Sector. SUMMARY:RENPOWER MOZAMBIQUE - Speeding up the green growth potential for the next decade
DESCRIPTION:Mozambique possesses a wide range and diverse energy potential\, with renewable energy growing increasingly its share of the countries’ energy mix. Large hydro remains the dominant form of RE generation\, and new projects are being launched\, but solar\, wind and biomass projects have been developed over the last few years and new projects are expected in the coming years through the PROLER program. The government is concentrating its efforts in remote rural areas\, relying on renewable energy technology providers. Achieving universal electricity access by 2030\, a goal set by the government\, will require decentralized solutions and more investments in diverse generation sources and distribution channels\, including both grid connections and micro-grids. That said\, what are expected developments for 2022 and beyond? \nAudience: The event will gather under one roof key stakeholders including representatives from the government\, International Finance Institutions (IFIs)\, policy makers\, international and local developers\, EPC contractors\, independent power producers\, engineering\, legal and advisory services\, manufacturers\, banking and private equity entities. \nAgenda and registration – The detailed agenda\, speaker line-up and registration form will be available upon your written inquiry. Make sure to register early to benefit from the early bird conditions. \nFor more information\, please contact:\nMaxence de Craecker\nEvent Manager\nmdecraecker@euroconventionglobal.com\n+32 2 662 16 12

SUMMARY:Key Considerations for a high efficiency product performance for your PV System
DESCRIPTION:Solar power systems are considered a key tool in the energy supply for the present and future generations. Several factors have promoted the development of photovoltaics such as environmental concerns\, incentives and tax deductions\, a more performing and less expensive technology and the need to replace carbon fossil energy systems with renewables to ensure compliance with the objectives set by the Paris COP to limit global warming to 1.5 ° C. \nA solar cell or photovoltaic cell is a device that converts the sunlight into usable energy. The amount of sunlight that can be converted into electricity is referred to as solar cell efficiency. There are some factors that should be taken into consideration to guarantee the optimal efficiency of the solar panels. \nIn this Showcase you will hear directly from LONGi’s Technical Support Specialist Kevin Robinson Learn how Company’s range of high efficiency products create increased value for your projects. \nThis event is open to all. \nRegister here
