SUMMARY:Renpower Morocco
DESCRIPTION:Euroconvention Global is pleased to announce its next event: RENPOWER MOROCCO – The 2nd Renewable Energy\, Power Infrastructure & Energy Efficiency Investors Conference \nDate: 21 April 2020\nCity: Rabat\, Morocco \nAttending: Key stakeholders including representatives from the government\, International Finance Institutions (IFIs)\, policy makers\, international and local developers\, EPC contractors\, independent power producers\, engineering\, legal and advisory services\, manufacturers\, banking and private equity entities. \nBackground: Morocco has already taken important steps to develop a modern energy market\, setting clear renewable energy targets\, establishing dedicated institutions to implement the national programs\, further opening and reforming the power sector and facilitating the necessary regulatory environment and access to finance. \nThe government\, along with the relevant stakeholders\, is working on increasing its RES capacity\, aiming at 42% of its energy mix through renewables at the end of this year and 52 % by 2030. Several solar energy and wind power projects are in the pipeline or at a planning stage\, along with a few hydroelectric energy plants. Meeting the growing internal energy demand and reducing the country’s external energy dependence is still a key objective. Furthermore\, energy efficiency projects in transport\, constructions\, public administration and industry are expected to be initiated and developed. \nAs the electrical power industry in Morocco is facing challenges involved with sustained growth of demand\, added to environmental protection requirements\, smart grid technology holds a great promise for a cleaner and more efficient power. On the other hand\, off-grid solutions and advanced storage systems\, along with management service and expertise are important keys for the success of the electrification in the country vast remote and rural areas. \nThe potential of the RES development in the next decade\, combined with an investors-friendly environment\, will keep providing numerous business opportunities for investors\, developers\, technology providers and consultants in the sector. \nMore info here

SUMMARY:Webinar - Open Solar Contracts
DESCRIPTION:Due to the coronavirus we have decided to postpone our in person briefings for Open Solar Contracts due to be held across our various offices. \nInstead we will host the global webinar on 30 March at 12.30pm. The webinar should last approximately 60 minutes. \nIn a market where power prices continue to fall it is important that the industry takes as much cost as it can out of the development of projects. The adoption of standard form documentation offers the opportunity to do this by improving the speed and efficiency of solar transactions globally. As a firm\, we have advised on over 8 GW of solar projects across Europe\, the Middle East\, Africa\, the US\, Latin America and Asia. We have seen the value these standard legal documents create. \nWe would be delighted if you are able to join us on this live webinar to find out more about Open Solar Contracts. \nRegister here \nWebex – Joining details for this webinar will be sent to registered participants

SUMMARY:Renpower Mozambique
DESCRIPTION:Following-up on our successful renewable energy RENPOWER series in Sub-Saharan Africa\, Euroconvention Global is pleased to announce its next event in the region: RENPOWER Mozambique – The 4th Renewable Energy\, Off-Grid & Power Infrastructure Investors Conference. \nBackground: At 187 gigawatts\, Mozambique has the largest power generation potential in Southern Africa from untapped coal\, hydro\, gas\, wind and solar resources. Hydropower currently accounts about 81% of installed capacity. However\, natural gas and renewable energy sources occupy a growing share of Mozambique’s energy mix.  Despite the outsized potential\, only 29% of the population has access to electricity\, due to limited transmission and distribution networks and unfavourable market conditions for new generation. The industrial and commercial segments are expected to drive demand growth\, as residential consumers struggle with the existing highly subsidized tariffs (source: Power Africa/USAID) \nMake sure to be part of the new renewable energy projects shaping up in Mozambique for the upcoming decade! \nThis year agenda will focus on the current developments and further prospects in Mozambique – highlighting government initiatives\, regulatory progress\, international cooperation\, investment potential and funding strategies for the country’s renewable energy sector. \nFor more information\, please visit the conference page

SUMMARY:4th Power Tech Africa
DESCRIPTION:The 2018 global trends indicated that investing in renewable energy is investing in a future profitable to all. The investments in renewable energy in 2018 were three folds higher than the amounts invested in coal and gas fired generators. According to the report from International Renewable Energy Agency\, at the end of 2018\, global renewable generation capacity amounted to 2351 GW of which hydro accounted for the largest share of the total\, with an installed capacity of 1172 GW\, followed by wind and solar energy that accounted capacities of 564 GW and 486 GW respectively. \nAs per the World Bank Group\, roughly 1 billion people or 13% of the world’s population live without electricity. Between 2014 and 2018\, the World Bank provided more than $11.5 billion in financing for renewable energy and energy efficiency in Africa. They could meet nearly a quarter of the energy needs from indigenous and clean renewable energy by 2030. \nKenya itself aims to produce 19\,200 MW against a demand of 15\,000 MW by 2030. The population is expected to grow from 49 million to about 90 million people by 2050. Since only about 40% of the population now has reliable electricity service\, about 1\,500 miles of new transmission lines are under construction\, with plans for an additional 3\,600 miles. \nWith this insight and the ensuing opportunities in the neighbouring countries of Uganda\, Rwanda\, Ethiopia and Tanzania\, Bricsa Consulting is committed to host the 4th Annual PowerTech Africa\, a 2 day exclusive closed-door gathering of senior renewable practitioners from both public and private sectors across the world with a keen interest to participate in the growth and development opportunities in the region. We look forward to welcoming the interested participants to share the platform and be a part of the elite gathering looking towards a positive outcome. \nMore info here
