SUMMARY:MAURITANIDES MINING\, OIL & GAS AND ENERGY CONFERENCE AND EXHIBITION
DESCRIPTION:The 7th edition of Mauritanides Conference and Exhibition returns to Nouakchott\, Mauritania from 25-27 February 2025. This iconic and largest mining\, oil and gas and clean energy event takes place every 2 years and showcases the vast minerals and resources potential in Mauritania and the region. \nSince being appointed the Ministry of Mines and Industry as well as the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum\, Mauritania to organise this event in 2018\, Spire Events (Singapore) has injected new energy and impetus into this event. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive and top-level government partnership continues for the 2025 edition. \nThe President\, Prime Minister\, Minister and other major government officials from Mauritania and the region will be attending and speaking at Mauritanides. Global sponsors like BP\, Kinross\, Shell and Société Générale as well as local national organisations like SNIM have showcased their companies at the event over the years. With more than 2000 attendees across 30 countries represented at the last edition\, the organizers are expecting around 2000 attendees to converge in Mauritania once again. The sustained interest is hardly surprising given Mauritania has been very much in the global spotlight with new exciting projects such as Tortue/Ahmeyim gas project and feasibility studies for gas pipelines to supply gas across 15 countries in the ECOWAS region and beyond. There is certainly immense business potential in Mauritania right now within the resources and energy sector. \nLastly\, Mauritanides conference and expo has always been about having a strong Mauritanian core and this 2025 edition will continue to spotlight many local companies and involve local youth from within the sector. The objective is to showcase the very best of Mauritania to an international audience. \nYou can secure your stand here or register as a delegate here. Mauritanides looks forward to welcoming you to Nouakchott for this important event in February 2025

SUMMARY:SOLAR ETHIOPIA 2025
DESCRIPTION:Solar Africa – Solar Exhibition In Ethiopia \nThe overwhelming response from the Solar Industry has encouraged Expogroup to launch “SOLAR AFRICA” and after successful editions in Kenya and Tanzania Solar Africa is all set to step in the Ethiopian Market. \nSolar Africa in Ethiopia will be held concurrently with Power &Energy Africa from 18 – 20 February 2025 . \nThe region offers tremendous opportunities to suppliers worldwide\, having among the strongest solar resources in the world. In particular\, the region offers excellent potential for concentrated solar power (CSP) and concentrated photovoltaic (CPV) systems. \nSolar photovoltaics are being promoted to replace fuel-based lighting and off-grid electrical needs. Ethiopia is thought to have about 5 MW of off-grid solar. Almost all current solar power is used for telecommunications. Other uses include village well pumps\, health care and school lighting. A current government initiative plans to bring solar power to 150\,000 households. The first phase included 1 MW of panels. The first large installation of solar was a village grid of 10 kW in 1985\, expanded to 30 kW in 1989. A solar panel assembly plant opened in Addis Ababa in early 2013 capable of making 20 MW of panel per year. \nMany African countries are currently exploring the use of solar and other renewable energy\, with Ethiopia being a strong market for Solar industry and is currently focusing on developing the same. The Government is also being very supportive by allowing solar products to enter the country duty free. \nRegister here.

SUMMARY:RES4Africa to Host High-Level Conference in Rabat: Shaping a Future-Proof Energy System in Morocco
DESCRIPTION:In light of its long-standing collaboration with Moroccan partners and its commitment to supporting the Mediterranean region’s clean energy transition\, RES4Africa Foundation is organising the high-level conference Shaping a Future-Proof Energy System in Morocco. The event will take place on October 14th\, 2024\, at the Sofitel Jardin des Roses in Rabat from 09:00 to 14:30 (UTC+1). \nThe conference aims to foster a public-private dialogue on accelerating Morocco’s energy transition in alignment with the country’s national priorities and recent developments. It will bring together key energy stakeholders\, including representatives from public sector Institutions\, private sector leaders\, and international experts\, to discuss strategies for enhancing Morocco’s renewable energy landscape. \nMorocco has made significant progress in its energy transition over the past decade\, achieving a 20% share of renewable energy by 2020 and aiming for 52% of installed capacity by 2030. The country’s ambition extends to reaching 80% renewable energy in its energy mix by 2050\, as outlined in its Low Carbon Strategy. Additionally\, Morocco’s Green Hydrogen Offer (“Offre Maroc”) seeks to position the country as a leader in the global green hydrogen sector through a comprehensive\, incentive-driven approach. \nHowever\, achieving these ambitious targets presents several challenges\, such as water scarcity\, food security\, and land degradation—all of which are exacerbated by climate change and have direct implications for the energy sector. The conference will address these challenges and explore strategies to secure energy independence\, competitiveness\, and affordability while maintaining a strong commitment to green transition goals. \nThe event will also highlight RES4Africa’s ongoing activities in the country. This includes the First Executive School on Renewable Energies and Energy Transition in Morocco\, developed in collaboration with the University Mohamed VI Polytechnic. This initiative reflects the commitment to enhancing cooperation and partnership between Italy and African countries\, aligned with the Italian government’s Strategic Plan Italy-Africa\, known as the Mattei Plan\, which supports the energy transition. The gathering will also introduce RAISEMorocco\, a new accelerator initiative for innovative startups and entrepreneurs in the renewable energy sector In Morocco. \nRES4Africa invites all interested stakeholders to join this critical dialogue and contribute to shaping the future of Morocco’s energy system. To secure your place at the event\, please register through the following link.
