SUMMARY:e-Conference: Green Hydrogen in Africa
DESCRIPTION:A growing number of African countries are choosing green hydrogen as a potential technology to reduce their reliance on fossil fuels\, accelerate access to electricity for millions of Africans by expanding the use of renewable energy resources\, and meet their global climate commitments. The continent is experimenting with new ways to sustainably harness its existing resources in order to meet the rising demand for energy for economic development and to boost citizens out of poverty while pursuing a net-zero future. \nCountries such as Namibia\, South Africa\, Kenya\, Morocco\, and Nigeria are at various stages of developing plans to incorporate green hydrogen into their energy mixes. \nGlobal hydrogen consumption remains low\, counting for less than 2% of total global energy consumption. However\, the Hydrogen Council estimates that by 2050\, this consumption could reach 25%. \nThanks to its excellent renewable energy potential\, Africa is ideally placed to have a pivotal role in the skyrocketing global green hydrogen industry. \nRegister Here
